Danger Four, the first band devoted to Beatles music in America , was formed in 1983 by his leader Coco Boudakian. The original idea was to get the authentic Beatle sound, and the only way to do it was getting the original Vox amplifiers, Gretsch and Rickenbacker guitar, Hofner bass and Ludwing drums. Coco travelled to the US and the UK and bought from private collectors all the equipment manufactured in the 60´s. The last (but not least) detail are the classic four buttoned suits that go together with the setting on stage.
Ready to start the performances, Danger Four made his debut at Millington Drake theatre in Montevideo ( Uruguay ), where the band put on three sold out shows that first weekend. But the audience wanted more, and supported by the British Embassy in Uruguay , Danger Four extended the shows for six months, it was the first time that the British Embassy sponsored a non british artist. We're honoured to say that the ambassador, Mr Wallace, the Cultural attache, Richard Cowly, have seen many Danger Four performances.
After more than one hundred shows, their fame crossed the Atlantic . The BBC sent a host, Mr Barry Tomalyn, to make an interview spoken totally in English, which was broadcasted on the Radio. Three months later the BBC produced a new program “All pie del Big Ben”, but this time in Spanish, for Latinoamerican countries.
In April 1986, Danger Four came to Buenos Aires, and appeared for the first time in National TV broadcast, at the top programme of that time called “Badia & compañía”, hosted by the number one beatle fan in Argentina Juan Alberto Badia, who was the Honorary Director of the recent first Latinoamerican Beatle Week, where we had the immense pleasure of being special guests. When Danger Four arrived to Argentina , there were no beatle bands. Since their weekly appearences on TV, many young people began to pay attention to Beatle music, new Beatle fans were born, and some of them even formed their own bands. Danger Four is responsible for the resumption of the Beatlemania in Argentina and all South America .
In 1990 the Band was considered by the BBC as “Beatles Roving Ambassadors”.
This group, with almost 4000 shows on their course and whose slogan is “Close your eyes and listen to the Beatles”, is still spreading the Beatles music, with the highest respect and faithfulness, producing an exciting show that goes through all the years ( even their solo careers).
Each member of the group plays the instruments according to the Beatle he roleplays.
One of Danger Four's recent achievements was for them to perform in Viña del Mar , in the very famous Quinta Vergara in Chile , the biggest and most prestigious stage in South America . Danger Four's performance was broadcasted live on channel 13 of that country and applauded by an audience of 25.000 people. It must be pointed out that it was the first time ever a band presented a Beatle tribute on that stage.
On the month of December the band gave a Mega show in Montevideo where more than 50.000 people attended without leaving an empty spot on the Luis Alberto Herrera Avenue, which is one of Uruguay's main Avenues, giving the band a standing ovation...
During the summer season again they were outstanding in the Argentinean Atlantic coast, selling out each one of their performances and having to add new ones. This shows the validity of the band with more than two decades of existence and with permanent success.
